Overview
Karamoja sits in Uganda's arid northeast, historically isolated from the rest of the country and largely untouched by mainstream tourism. The Karamojong maintain distinct pastoralist traditions, cattle-based culture and dress that offer a genuinely different cultural experience from the Buganda, Bakiga or Maasai-adjacent cultures found elsewhere in East Africa itineraries.
