While most calving-season itineraries focus on the Ndutu Plains near the Serengeti, a smaller resident wildebeest and zebra population calves seasonally on the Simanjiro Plains near Tarangire, drawing predators to this less-touristed corner of northern Tanzania at a similar time of year.
