Overview
Gombe is reached by boat from Kigoma rather than a longer flight-and-boat combination like Mahale, making it a more time-efficient chimpanzee trekking option. It's a small, forested park along the lake shore, home to chimpanzee communities that have been studied continuously since Jane Goodall began her research here in the 1960s.
