Overview
Mount Meru, at 4,566 meters, sits within Arusha National Park and offers dramatic views into its own collapsed volcanic crater as well as distant views of Kilimanjaro. Because it receives a fraction of Kilimanjaro's climbing traffic, it appeals both to travelers using it as acclimatization before a Kilimanjaro attempt and to those who simply want a rewarding high-altitude trek without the crowds.
